We assist with flagship academy for government initiative
We were awarded a contract to work on the Francis Combe Academy. The academy was part of the government’s ‘building schools for the future’ initiative and was the first academy to be built in Hertfordshire.
Programme
This flagship £24m development was very much in the public eye and needed to go without a hitch. Creating the new academy involved 81% new build and 19% refurbishment of a general teaching block.
The finished building, accommodating 1,050 pupils, was over a combination of two and three stories and needed to cater for specialisms in art, design and communications.
Our solution
Our turnkey solution was carefully developed by our experts and involved close collaboration with construction firm Kier and DNO UKPN. The infrastructure provided 1000kVA for the new school, and we also created a substation and developed a bespoke LV panel.
