Great Britain is investing over £400 million in electric vehicle charging points over the next two years. The LEVI (local electric vehicle infrastructure) fund from the Department of Transport will see the distribution of £381 million, whilst another £15 million is being invested in the On-Street Residential Charging Scheme.

The investment comes off the back of a successful LEVI pilot project that saw a £20 million investment to install 1000 EVPCs in Barnet, Dorset, Durham, Kent, Lincolnshire, North Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Suffolk and Warrington. Other local authorities are also starting electric car charging points projects and bringing new deals into the procurement cycle.

The roll-out of EVCP is also increasing across Scotland and Wales.
